Meadow-Lights

The Meadow Lights is the largest and oldest Christmas light show in eastern North Carolina.  In 1994 they built "The Old Country Store" carrying over 300 varieties old fashioned candy and now has become one of the largest candy stores in the state specializing in Christmas candy. Take a nostalgic trip back in time to an innocent age when the anticipation of Santa made the holidays magical. Groups will enjoy holiday lights with discount shopping. Meadow Lights are open nightly, 7 days a week.

State-Annual-Singing-Convention

"Amazing Grace" and "How Great thou Art" are the traditional hymns that are still treasured today.  Hear these favorites and many more as voices are raised in song at the Singing Grove on Main Street in Benson. For over 90 years, the Benson State Singing Convention has been held on the 4th weekend in June. Enjoy gospel group performances at the “Sing".

Benson-Mule-Days

Bring your group to Benson during the Mule Days Festival the 4th Saturday of September. Groups will enjoy watching the mule competition, festival parade and a local restuarant featuring a country buffet. A Southern tradition for more than 55 years, Benson Mule Days was created to celebrate the hard working farm mules that were replaced by modern equipment in the 1950s.
